Arnold Palmer won the Florida Citrus Open Invitational in 1971. Arnold did not win the event named in his honor despite continuing to play in the event until 2004.
Arnold Palmer won 62 PGA Tour titles. He won seven major titles but did not win the US PGA Championship despite finishing 2nd three times in 1964, 1968 and 1970.
Palmer was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2004 and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2009.
