Paul Casey was born on 21 July 1977 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.

As an amateur he won the 1998 Pac-10 Championship, 1999 English Amateur, 1999 Pac-10 Championship, 2000 English Amateur and 2000 Pac-10 Championship.

Casey turned professional and joined the European Tour in 2001.

In 2009 he reached third position in the Official World Golf Rankings.

He currently has 20 professional tour wins.

Other career highlights include T3 in the 2010 Open Championship, T4 at the the 2016 Masters, and T2 at the PGA Championship in 2020.

He launched his own foundation in 2007 to support junior golfers at Foxhills Golf Club near London, where he grew up playing. At age 10, he initially tried for a tennis scholarship at Foxhills but was unsuccessful. He returned the following year and earned a golf scholarship instead. Today, his foundation provides scholarships to underprivileged junior golfers.
