His older brother Jon played college golf at San Jose State.

During his time at Georgia Tech, Tringale won the Atlantic Coast Conference championship as a freshman and was a key member of the team that competed at various national levels. He represented the United States in prestigious amateur competitions, including the Walker Cup.
He was a three-time NCAA All-American at Georgia Tech. He was a member of the PGA Tour from 2010 to 2022. In 2022 he joined LIV Golf.
Cameron Tringale turned professional in 2009. His first professional tournament win was the 2014 Franklin Templeton Shootout he played with Jason Day.
Tringale was runner-up at the 2015 Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
