DeChambeau was born in Modesto, California and moved to Fresno prior to high school.
Bryson James Aldrich DeChambeau was born on the 16th of September 1993 in Modesto, California.
Bryson found success as a junior golfer, winning the California State Junior championship at age 16. Later he accepted a scholarship to play golf at SMU, where he majored in physics. Not many physics majors on the professional tour!
He was a decorated amateur golfer, winning the NCAA individual title and US Amateur championship. One of only five players to win both titles in the same year (Bryson, Tiger, Jack Nicklaus, Phil Mickelson, Ryan Moore). He played in the FedEx St. Jude classic as an amateur and made the cut.
As an amateur he won the 2010 California State Junior Championship, 2013 Trans-Mississippi Amateur, 2014 The American Championship, 2014 Erin Hills Intercollegiate, 2015 NCAA Division I Championship ant the 2015 US Amateur.
As of the start of the 2021 season, Bryson has 7 PGA victories, including two major championship (2020 US Open and 2024 US Open.).
Bryson DeChambeau joined LIV Golf in 2022.
