Jiménez learned the game as a caddie after spending a few months working in a car repair shop.
Although nicknamed "The Mechanic" he enjoys driving cars as opposed to repairing them. Has an affinity for high-performance vehicles and owns a red Ferrari.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez Rodríguez was born 5 January 1964 in the town of Málaga on the coast of Andalucía, Southern Spain.
After a few years travelling around Spain competing in national competitions, Miguel aimed his sights on the European Tour and secured his full playing rights in 1988 at the Qualifying School.
He has since won 21 times on the European Tour and has been a member of two victorious Ryder Cup teams.
