The PGA European Tour is a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) which is run by professional staff. The PGA European Tour is controlled by its playing members via a board of directors of 12 elected past and present tour players and a tournament committee of 14 current players.
The PGA European Tour is currently titled as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons.
The European Tour was first established by the British-based Professional Golfers' Association through the 1970s. In 1984 responsibility was transferred to an independent PGA European Tour organisation.
The PGA European Tour headquarter is at the Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England.
The 2022 global schedule featured tournaments in 21 different countries.
