Nick Hardy was born on the 26th of January 1996 in Northbrook, Illinois.

Hardy played college golf for the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

In his junior year of college Hardy was selected to play for team USA in the Arnold Palmer Cup, where he won both of his singles matches.

As an amateur he won the 2013 AJGA Stonehenge Junior Open, 2015 Big Ten Championship (tied with Carson Schaake), 2016 Illinois State Amateur, Wolf Run Intercollegiate, 2017 NCAA West Lafayette Regional (tied with Andrej Bevins) and 2018 Big Ten Championship.

In 2015 Hardy qualified for the US Open at Chambers Bay in Washington state via local and sectional qualifying.

In 2016 once again Nick qualified for the US Open, held at Oakmont Country Club.

He turned pro in 2018.

Nick Hardy won his first PGA Tournament, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, in April 2023.

He tied for 52nd at the 2015 US Open Championship.

He tied for 14t at the 2022 US Open Championship and tied for 20th at the 2023 US Open Championship.
