Lee Westwood was born on the 24th of April 1973 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

Lee Westwood was a talented athlete in school. He played rugby, cricket, and football. He first started playing golf at 13 years old.

As an amateur he won the 1991 Peter McEvoy Trophy, 1992 Lagonda Trophy 1993 British Youths Open Amateur Championship and 1993 Leven Gold Medal.

Lee turned professional in 1993 after winning the British Youth Open Championship and won his first professional event in 1996.

Westwood has put together a long and successful golf career. He’s won 40+ tournaments on 5 different continents across 4 different decades.

Was presented with honorary Doctor of Science degree from Nottingham Trent University in November 2007.

In 2022, Westwood joined the LIV Golf League, captaining the Majesticks GC team alongside Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson.

Westwood is a Ryder Cup legend, having represented Europe 11 times (1997–2021).
