Joaquín Niemann was born on the 7th of November 1998 in Santiago, Chile.

His father gave him plastic clubs at the age of 2 growing up in Santiago, Chile and learned the game while practicing on the range at Club de Polo y Equitacion San Cristobal.

Joaquín was the number one ranked amateur golfer from May 2017 to April 2018.

He earned the PGA TOUR card at age 19 in just his eighth TOUR start as a professional. When he turned professional in 2018, forfeited exemptions into the US Open and Open Championship that year.

Joaquín’s first PGA tour win was the 2019 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier and his second was the 2022 Genesis Invitational.

He won the 2019 A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier with a total score of 259 (-21). Runner up was Tom Hoge 6 shots behind.

He won the 2022 Genesis Invitational with a total score of 265 (-19). Runners up were Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young 2 shots behind.

At the 2022 Genesis invitation he set a new 54 hole tournament record at 19 under par.
