Harris English was born on the 23rd of July 1989 in Georgia but attended high school in Tennessee. He won the individual state title in Tennessee in 2005.

He attended Baylor School (2003-07) in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he led the school to four state titles. Also won one individual state title in high school.

Harris played his college golf as a Georgia Bulldog in Athens, GA and won a Nationwide Tour event as an amateur while still in school.

Named to SEC academic honor roll all four years at Georgia.

As an amateur he won the 2007 Georgia State Amateur and 2011 Southern Amateur.

English turned professional in late 2011 and secured his PGA tour card in 2012 finishing 13th in “Q School”.

He won the 2103 FedEx St. Jude Classic with a total score of 268 (-12). Runners up were Phil Mickelson and States Scott Stallings 2 shots behind.

He won the 2013 OHL Classic at Mayakoba with a total score of 263 (-21). Runner up was Brian Stuard.

He won the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions with a total score of 267 (25). He defeated Joaquín Niemann in a playoff.

He won the Farmers Insurance Open with a total score of 280 (-8). Runner up was Sam Stevens 1 shot behind.
