Tom Weiskopf has won one Major tournament, the 1973 Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Thomas Weiskopf was born 9th November 1942 in Massillon, Ohio.
Between 1968 and 1982 he won 16 PGA Tour titles including The 1973 Open Championship.
He was a four-time runner-up at The Masters and also had a T2 finish at the 1976 US. Open at the Highlands Course of the Atlanta Athletic.
In 1973 Golf Magazine named him “Player of the Year.”
He was also a member of the 1973 and 1975 U.S. Ryder Cup teams.
In 1993 Weiskopf joined the Senior PGA Tour and won several tournaments, including one senior major, the 1995 US Senior Open played at the Congressional Country Club, Blue Course.
Having played many of the best courses in the world, Weiskopf established his own golf course design firm in 1994. Since then, he has designed more than 40 acclaimed golf courses world-wide.
He was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2023 and inducted in 2024.
The 1973 Open Championship was played at Troon Golf Club in Troon, Scotland.
Tom Weiskopf won the 1973 Open Championship three strokes ahed of runners-up Neil Coles and Johnny Miller.
His total score was 276 (-12).
