The club was officially opened by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew (then Prime Minister) in 1974.

It is a private club, but allows some public play. Visitors can book tee times, subject to availability.

The club is ranked as one of the best golf destinations in Asia.

Sentosa Golf Club is home to two of the region’s most exclusive and challenging golf 18 hole championship golf courses, The Serapong and The Tanjong course.

The Serapong course is ranked within the Top 100 of Golf Digest’s World’s Greatest Golf Courses. It is a Par-72 and stretches 6,765 metres in length from the Championship tees.

The Tanjong course was originally designed by Frank Pennink in 1972, redesigned by Max Wexler and Chris Pitman in the 1990s, and most recently redesigned by Andrew Johnston in 2015-2016. It is 6,218 meters (6,704 yards) from the blue tees and has a Rating/Slope: 71.9/138 from the blue tees.

The Club has hosted a number of professional and amateur tournaments, including the Singapore Open, Open Championship Qualifiers, HSBC Women’s World Championship, Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, and the Women’s Asia Amateur Pacific Championship.
