The Royal Melbourne West Course
Royal Melbourne is a 36-hole golf club located in the Melbourne Sandbelt, a region to the southeast of Central Melbourne which is known for its sandy soil. Several other significant golf courses like Commonwealth, Huntingdale, Kingston Heath, The Metropolitan, Victoria and Yarra Yarra are located in the area.
Founded in 1891, it is also Australia's oldest and continually existing golf club.
The West Course was designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1926.
