The Junior Ryder Cup is a biennial golf competition between Europe and the United States for golfers aged 18 and under. It is based on the men's Ryder Cup format. It is run by the same organisations, the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe.
Like the Ryder Cup, the Junior Ryder Cup follows a team format with matches that include foursomes, four-balls, and singles.
The teams consist of six boys and six girls.
The event is held every two years, alternating with the Ryder Cup.
The competition is hosted at different prestigious golf courses in the United States and Europe.
Similar to the Ryder Cup, the Junior Ryder Cup emphasises sportsmanship and the camaraderie that comes with team competition.
The first event was played in 1997 at La Línea, Cádiz, Spain.
