"Mr. Gilmore, I'm your caddy."
Prior to the 2021 Masters Adam Sandler tweeted a picture of Happy Gilmore’s Caddy and Will Zalatoris to his 2.8 million followers. The tweet said “Have fun today young man. Mr. Gilmore is watching you and very proud.”
Will Zalatoris explained on social media that he was “embracing” the comparisons as “a lot of people think I look like Mr. Gilmore’s caddie", so he put that on his wedge.
Happy Gilmore was released in 1996. Adam Sandler plays a rejected hockey player who transfers his skills to the golf course to save his grandmother's house.
The caddy role in Happy Gilmore was played by Jared Van Snellenberg, who now works professionally in psychiatry.
