Nelly Korda won the women's individual golf Gold Medal in Tokyo 2021
The 2021 Women's Olympic golf competition was held 4 August - 7 August at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.
Nelly Korda won the competition and Gold Medal with a total score of 267 (-17), one shot ahead of Mone Inami (-16) and Lydia Ko (-16).
Inami won the first extra hole (the par 4 18th) to win Silver.
Ko, who won the Silver Medal at the 2016 Rio Games, became the first golfer to win multiple medals at Olympic Games.
Korda becomes the first American female golfer to win a medal since 1900 when Margaret Abbott won gold in Paris.
Korda joined fellow countryman Xander Schauffele in giving the US its second Gold Medal in golf in Tokyo.
This marks Korda’s fourth victory of the 2021 season and her first since becoming World No. 1 in June.
Her sister Jessica Korda was tied for 15th place.
